4 Things to Get You Started

Getting into a new platform and not knowing where to start can be challenging. We built HERizon Connect to be straightforward, but like any network, you get out of it what you put in. So before exploring, here are the four things that will set you up to get value from day one.

1. Set up your profile

Your profile is the first thing another member sees when they come across your name in the network. It is how people decide whether to connect with you, reach out, or follow your work.

Here is what to complete before anything else:

• Your current role and organization

• A short bio that says who you are and what you do

• Your skillsets and any relevant affiliations

• Links to your social accounts

• A profile photo

You can edit any of this at any time by tapping Edit Profile on your profile page.

2. Post your first Highlight

Highlights are the core of how this network shares its insights and story. They are structured posts built around templates that make it easy to share your work, your wins, what you are learning, or what you need. There are six categories: Work, Growth, Passion, Support, and Travel

Your first post doesn't need to be perfect! Pick a category, fill in the template, and put something out there. You can also start by engaging with what someone else has already posted. Like a Highlight that resonates, leave a comment, or bookmark something you want to come back to. That matters too.

Tap the orange + button from anywhere in the app to get started.

3. Browse and RSVP to an event

The Events tab shows you what is happening across the industry. Workshops, panels, networking nights, conferences, and social events. These events are submitted by HERizon Allies, Event Contributors, and our team.

Tap any event to see the full details. If it looks like something worth attending, tap Going to add yourself to the attendee list, or tap Interested to save it to your Bookmarks without committing. You can also see who else is attending and message or connect with them.

4. Explore Allies and follow the ones that matter to your work

HERizon Allies are the organizations intentionally contributing to this network. Organizations that are actively working to advance women professionally, or women in sports. They post Highlights, share open roles and programs, and submit events to the feed.

Browse their profiles from the Home screen. When you find one that aligns with what you care about professionally, follow them. Their posts and events will start showing up in your feed.

These four steps take less than 30 minutes and make a real difference in what the platform surfaces for you.
